The blood applied: Tetelestai

“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭5‬-‭6‬

He is Risen indeed!! Oh hallelujah! By the cross we have been forgiven, by his blood we are redeemed. By his resurrection, we have been set free!
Oh what a beautiful hope it is to trust in Jesus!

This Holy Week has probably been the most impactful for me so far in my walk with the Lord. The death he endured, the mocking, the betrayal is all so so heart-wrenching to think about. Yet he knew what would happen to him, and he still chose to go through all of it for us. Love so deep. Mercy and grace literally poured out for us. Jesus also knew we would sin and he knew the weight of that sin. His body brutally broken for us; but that was not the end! He overcame death by his glorious resurrection, to save us from the burden of our sins, to give us hope for an everlasting future, freedom, victory and peace that surpasses all understanding. You are never too broken for Jesus Christ to make new. What an overwhelming joy that is to believe. Of course there will be days of struggle, brokenness, hurt, fear, chaos or grief, but because we are blood bought children of the King, that doesn’t last forever. We have hope, a beautiful purpose, and can be in relationship with him. Nothing, not even death, can defeat our God. That same power lives in us when we choose to have faith. When we choose to let him into our worlds, we gain so much more than we could ever even begin to imagine. I know that Jesus is with me, he’s experienced my brokenness, all my pain, all my wrongs. Yet he still will always love me and has never failed. God’s plan for redemption starts with a simple heart of seeking out Jesus. The one who paid it all.
Earlier in my writing, I claimed that this has been the most impactful of Holy Weeks I’ve had. That is because I’ve been wrecked by the overwhelming love of Jesus. A clearer picture of the gospel, and a personal revival of my walk in the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that if you are reading this, and have faith in him that he will bring you freedom too.
